The Making

The Sketch

Step 01
The Sketch
Every piece begins on paper — a silhouette drawn and redrawn until the line feels inevitable. Nothing is produced that was not first imagined.
Step 02
The Fabric
Cloth is chosen close to home: mudcloth from Bamako, kente from Kumasi, mohair from the Karoo. The material carries the first half of the story.
Step 03
The Cutting
A single cutter, a weighted pattern, chalk on cloth. Each cut is committed to by hand — there is no undo, and that is the point.
Step 04
The Craft
Seams are felled, edges bound, beadwork set by hand. Hours are spent where no one will ever look — because the wearer will feel it anyway.
Step 05
The Finished Piece
Pressed, inspected, signed. A finished garment leaves the studio with the designer’s name on the label and their standard inside it.
Step 06
Delivered
Wrapped in tissue, tied with thread, carried across the continent — or the ocean. Crafted in Africa. Worn everywhere.
